SFF Gaming Build ≤ $1000.00 (D3, SC2, WOW) Future proof

Thread Starter
I want a small form factor gaming build I just never made a SFF build before. I don't think it would to much different besides the lengths of cards etc. Though If I can get a gaming build to max out games like D3, SC2, WOW and keep it upgradeable I would appreciate it. It's either a SFF system or a laptop and honestly Id rather get a system cause it wont be outdated so fast.

  • Max settings D3, SC2, WOW
  • Stay Mobile
  • Stay Upgradeable for the future

Thanks in advance guys!

Trinity eh? Im not super firm it just needs to be appealing, because if I dont get a system mobile that I like ill end up spending more on a laptop with equivelant stats.

since you are deployed, mobility and size is your primary concern (aside from an universal power source) this tells me a laptop will best fit your needs. trinity is the upgraded version of the AMD llano APU and is supposed to come out soon. for mobile gaming purposes that will be your best bet. you wont have great graphics, but it's really your only solution unless you are looking at doubling your budget or more. an ITX based computer will cost you alot more space, far less mobile and you still have to find a monitor that can travel with you. most of the AIO computers (computer built into a monitor) are very anemic when it comes to gaming so laptop will be your best bet. you can buy a laptop with trinity and get decent frame rate out of mid/high settings and if you can squeeze out some more budget, you can even get the 1080p screen upgrade.

this build actually comes out to 1100 all sourced at newegg. you could prolly shop around and shave some cash off here and there. i went with a cheapish video card to squueze a ssd into your budget. you can always upgrade the card to a 7xxx but will cost ya a premium i didnt want to take away from on this build. you have a 64gb ssd,2500k,z77 board and its in a shoebox sized case(well about as close as gaming rig can be lol) tell me what ya think and any concerns you have.

edit: i would really suggest a 128gb m4. you could drop the f3 to make up for the costs. i dont know if you need a storage drive or not. i always am iffy on suggesting such a small ssd.
