Suggestions for PCI-E video card with $150 budget

Thread Starter
Im tired of the poor choice I made when I built my first PC went with a basic PCI-E 6200 turbocache, it cant even keep up with old games I used to play on my old 1.8Ghz Gateway PC with a 64MB card or even keep up now with call of duty 2 without putting in 800x600 and medium detail settings sheesh.

Any suggestions on one the best PCI-E cards I can get with my budget of $150? I was telling myself to at least wait for DX10 cards but this is horrible, I'll even buy used from someone trusted on here or ebay links? I just need to know what to look for spec wise.

go with the EVGA KO version it has a better heatsink and the step up program if you would like to do that. but i've never been a fan for XFX they "oc" there clocks and timming before they send them out by a hrt or two but this ends up restricting your clocks at top end From my exp.

The BFG has a 30$ mail rebate, so it has the price advantage. Other than that the XFX is a lot preetyer For 119$ the BFG is a real bargain IMO.

Hi, I have just purchased a nVidia GeForce 7500LE turbocache 512MB PCI-E card and i am pleasently supprised! If you are into gaming, the card performs very well with most in game settings on high. Im not talking sonic the hedghog either im playing games like F.E.A.R, Prey, Company of heros, Dawn of war, Ghost recon and condemened. If i had to rate it for value id give at least 9/10 and for overall performance 7/10.

For a mid range card i an really pleased and think its anyones money well spent.

Good luck!

By the way the stock speeds are 550MHz for the GPU and 800MHz for the memory but ive comfortably clocked them up 50MHz and 100Mhz respectively.

Ughhh anything turbocache is not good. Its using your ram as video memory.
ri.sho, are you asking if there will be a big difference between your current card and a 7600GT? in short .. yes a big difference.. and i dont think your 6200 has 12 pipes, if im not mistaken it only has 4 .. get the evga 7600gt.
