sure, they are terrible radiator/heatsink fans, but in a case, they work wonders! They push insane amounts of air at relatively low noises O.o

The 140mm Slipstreams actually aren't terrible, it's the 120mm models that are crap. Seriously overdone specs, mediocre blade design, and a tiny motor that appears to have been designed for 80mm fans and not 120mm fans. It isn't surprising that some batches have failure rates only beaten by SilenX. They also get louder against any restrictive surface, not just radiators.

Like I said in the other thread:
They have rubberized fan mounts to minimize vibration/noise. But from the looks of it, the colored rings are straight plastic to plastic. Wonder how this will impact the noise levels from them, especially after repeated changes and possibly wearing down of the clips, which would get loose and cause a lot of vibration/noise... I'll wait...

Edit>
Just PM'd CorsairGeorge about such a potential issue and got a very nice reply, and very quick as well. I asked if I could share his response and he's fine. So here it is:
Quote:
They're hard plastic, but a very tight pressfit. The chances of them getting loose would be very unlikely. We're talking hundreds of removals/replacements. And we'd gladly replace your fan if it rattled.

Very unlikely to be an issue, but if it ever becomes one, its nice to see a company back their products like this. I'm pleased with the answer and more than willing to give these a try now. Just thought I'd post this for anyone who had similar thoughts.

Thanks George, you the man! thumb.gif
