New Roccat Savu optical mouse. - Page 12

AW: New roccat savu optical mouse.

I have a deathadder and tried the savu one month ago at Mediamarkt, one of our big consumer electronic retailers.

Shape-wise I personally don't like it because of the weird thumb rest. Because of the shape differences to the deathadder I wouldn't call the savu a successor for the deathadder. But your mileage may vary and maybe the shape is no problem for you.

Shape isn't a big deal for me. The only reason I'm using the deathadder is because of its supposed superiority in sensor accuracy to all other mice. I don't detect any acceleration when I use it, and I've detected it with other mice. At the same time, I've had the mouse for years, so I wouldn't mind buying a new mouse like the Savu, if it's got no sensor issues.

I'm interested in this mouse, it's sounding right now like it could be a deathadder replacement for me.

There aren't any pictures because there is no acceleration in the 3090 - one generally just confirms the accepted outcome here. I think it's already been stated that there's no accel either. And there are line drawings already that test prediction and jitter. The only thing people may dislike about the sensor is the lift off.

Unless you want a jitter test for each DPI step? Because I'll guarantee there's no jitter at 400, 800 and 1800. Dunno about the other steps.

I really need to do a write up and clarify the whole lift off distance factor of Avagos official lens, LED quality, and surface material/color.

Keep me posted please, as I might do a review on the Savu this week.

How do you rate the quality of Roccat Savu cliques compared to the G9x, G400, Steelseries Diablo 3, EC2 eVo, Deathadder BE ?

Is his shell more robust and pleasant in the quality of clicks as the shell of the G9x as a good example ?

Need explicite answer smile.gif

Click distance is more a less the same as a G400 -so very small- and it is _very slightly_ easier to press, but it also gives a more solid feel, so it doesn't wobble a bit like the G400 can do if you take your finger out of the button. Also, since the button is all rubber (I doubt it's rubber paint this time but real rubber), it has a nicer feeling of control.

It requires a bit more pressure to click than the DA3.5G (but that's because mine has years of use, maybe), around the same as an Abyssus, and it's more solid and has less click distance than both DA3.5G and Abyssus.

Can't compare it to the others as I don't have them smile.gif

All in all it is a good mouse but I am a little annoyed that it is lower than 400dpi but that was to be expected from this sensor. Not that the sensor is bad but @ Spawn it is the same thing. Most ppl don't give a **** about this, so no worries smile.gif
For ppl who are interested it is more like 375dpi. May vary on pads ofc.

That might explain why it felt a bit slower when configured for 400CPI. Innocent of me I thought it was the added weight compared to the Abyssus, but now I realize why it felt "slower".

Thanks a bunch smile.gif

Thanks very much you were very clear this is an excellent point that the ROCCAT Savu have a felling of click almost identical to the G400 which is a reference in quality click thanks to its sheel switches that communicates well with the electronics microswithes.

So if I understand the click of Sayu are much more solid and pleasant to use than the G400 Deathadder ! rolleyes.gif

By cons I am afraid that his sense of feedback is less important than knowing the activation distance of his clicks is less important than the G400. tongue.gif

Of the click-feedback is very important I feel like we really feel activation plays without it being too hard and unpleasant to the touch for example I don't like the feedback from Razer that I find too light and flimsy : we feel just the feeling of activation of the cliques.

Be careful not to confuse the feedback (cliques felt during and after activation) with the distance of cliques ! wink.gif

You can have a mouse with a very short distance of cliques and feedback to the positive feel that is very intense and noticeable without being too rigid and hard at the touch.
I hope you understand me because it's a bit hard to explain. biggrin.gif
