That's true, and thats why they suggest limiting it to one axis, still possible to to rotate the mouse but less likely.

The only real test i've seen is the calibrated rotating disc, I should totally think of an easier way of doing that.

Sounds like an issue with your testing methodology, or perhaps skipping on your mouse surface.

Just back that key up if you want to sync stats between PCs.
IF you look at that key itll look something like this
"Statistic DB"= [snip]
The only think Ive bothered to figure out so far is that the first 4 hex digits (86,10,00,00,) are the number of Left clicks in hex and the next four are the number of right clicks.
If you want to play with this, here's an example so you can make sense of the numbers. Say you want to have a large number of left clicks, lets say 17555555 clicks. Pop that into a decimal to hex calculator (calc.exe works) and convert to hex. That will give you 10BE063 in hex. This needs to be split up to put it back into the original format but the smallest digit comes first. So it would be:
63,e0,0b,01
So to have 17555555 left clicks a the reg key would be the same but with the first four hex digits changed:
"Statistic DB"= [snip]

I find it easiest to export the whole key using regedit, manipulate in notepad and then import again. You must kill Savu Monitor.exe before trying to import the new data.
Not sure if anyone cares about any of this? I can go through some more of the hex and try and figure it out if theres enough interest?
Thanks. Unfortunately I reinstalled my OS (Windows 8 back to 7 due to compatibility issues) before grabbing the previous values so I'll just have to accept stats that are not completely accurate on this mouse, but I am awaiting a replacement mouse due to the squeaky wheel anyway, so at least that one will have accurate stats from the start.

For me, the reason is simply that it would be interesting to have accurate metrics on how long each switch lasts until failure vs its rated lifespan etc. Usually the left mouse button fails before anything else on a mouse for me, so it will be interesting to see how the Savu design holds up.

A shame that it's stored in the registry and not some file that could easily be synced via Dropbox, and that there aren't Mac drivers to track stats either. I would hope that a future revision would record these stats in hardware and store them on the mouse itself, rather than relying on drivers.

The rating, as in for example "10 Million" is refering to a theoretic value in a lab and has not a lot to do with real world performance.

In this kind of lab test the switch is tested with even frequency (clicks per min) and even force. The force is a key factor and usually much lower than what you actually dish out to frag that motherf*cker that suddenly jumps you,

Yeah, but it's interesting to me at least, to track that data.

The Savu definitely feels better built than most of the mice I've had in the past, so it would have been nice to see how long a DeathAdder lasted vs the Savu for example. (if the DeathAdder had similar metrics)

You'd be amazed how impressions of "build quality" can be swayed the the simplest things.

How does everyone feel with the "Roccat" writing on the right mouse button? Does that not bother anyone?

I don't really notice it any more. I would prefer it wasn't there though.

I couldn't care more or less ^^
