Im sorry for being unclear, im referring to the "data error (cyclic redundancy check)". When running a RAID it is usually best to have two identical HDD's. If not you run into problems. IE. If that first HDD (the barracuda) is 7200 RPM, and the really old dell one is a 5400 RPM Im not sure the RAID would work. This could be what is causing your problems.

Try to delete your RAID setup and start over. Starts a fresh RAID and then install XP following what was described here before.

Try removing the old HDD (the dell one) and try installing windows onto a single HDD. Note this will require that you disable RAID through your Bios. Also, as you will not be using RAID, the RAID drivers that are on that floppy are not needed. You can always just use the other HDD as a secondary partition. You wont get the speed increase of RAID, but you will have the extra storage. Also, just for kicks, look at the dell HDD and see if its a 5400 rpm or a 7200 rpm HDD.

In a RAID setup it'll assume the lowest speed. If you have a 7200 and a 5400, it'll run @ 5400.

The same goes to size, a 80Gb and a 160Gb will only have 160Gb in a RAID 0 (80+80).

That is what I thought, just was not 100% sure. Taking this into consideration. I think I would go ahead and keep them out of RAID anyways, as you will be limited to the speed and the size of the DELL hdd.

If you are not running a RAID anymore you should try a clean install and not a repair.

Yarr, just do a clean install. You can always just go ahead and keep that 14 gig for photos or something. Remember, do disable RAID in the bios and all the jazz. Good luck!
