In this case you'll still need press F6 and install the RAID drivers even you aren't running a RAID.

gigaRAID Function needs to be set at DISABLE, if you set it at ATA it will still try to make a RAID out of your one drive. "on-chip SATA MODE: [AUTO]" this is fine. You should not needs to install the RAID drivers if you are not running a RAID. Disabling the RAID functions in the bios will allow you to run the computer a single drive, and thus, you will not need RAID drivers.

Cylindrical Redundancy Check error? Or another one. Try installing windows on the old Dell hdd to rule out the seagate as the culprit. Also, make sure the jumper on the Barracuda is set correctly (disregard this step if the drive is SATA). This is very odd, especially considering your bios is picking up the drives (correct?).

Hmm, im starting to run out of ideas. Your seagate is a SATA drive correct? And you do have SATA turned on in the bios? What other options do you have under "On Chip SATA Mode: __".

Partitioning of the HDD is part of the windows installation, you dont have a choice in this. Windows will pick up a HDD whether or not it is Partitioned. I do not believe that fact that his HDD might not be partitioned is part of the problem at all.

EDIT: Death25, if you could get on your AIM account this might be a little easier.
