Today, we’re introducing Google Drive—a place where you can create, share, collaborate, and keep all of your stuff. Whether you’re working with a friend on a joint research project, planning a wedding with your fiancé or tracking a budget with roommates, you can do it in Drive. You can upload and access all of your files, including videos, photos, Google Docs, PDFs and beyond.

So awesome. For those that don't know, if you upgraded your Picasa storage, it applies to Google Drive. thumb.gif I was happy to see that when I logged in. $5/year for 20GB of storage.

A day after MS announced expanded SkyDrive.... wink.gif

Now, I just need an app that allows me to combine DropBox, SkyDrive and Google Drive into one!

Why pay $5 / year when you can get 25 GB with SkyDrive for free? Unless you did not use it before.

ya this!! Anyway, how's google drive compare to SkyDrive? For my money, the things that id like to see added to SkyDrive are the ability to selectively sync (e.g. Opt out of syncing my music folder to my laptop which has little space available, but still have the music available to other devices via SkyDrive), and also the ability to sync folders stored in other locations on my computer (I don't want to move my documents folder into my SkyDrive folder)

I didn't use SkyDrive before when the 25GB was offered, and I already pay $5 since I have a bunch of photos on Picasa. biggrin.gif

from google drive start page

Get 5 GB for free.
Get started with 5 GB of free space. Upgrade to 25 GB for less than $2.50 a month, and you can store practically everything for next to nothing.

$2.50 is much more then $5/year? I'm confused.

Oh wait what the... that's odd. My current plan is 20GB for $5/year and is no longer offered. Nice, I was grandfathered in. devil.gif

How to keep your old plan

Google storage plans have changed, but you can stay on your current plan as long as you:

Keep your account active
Keep payment information in Google Wallet accurate and up-to-date
Don’t cancel or upgrade your current plan
If your account lapses, your credit card is declined, or you choose to change your storage plan in any way (upgrade or downgrade), you’ll be switched to the new Google storage plan.

You’ll access your account information in a new place, even if you choose to keep your current plan. The new place to access and manage your account information is www.google.com/settings/storage.

What happens when you switch to a new plan

When you change your current storage plan or if your payment information lapses, you’ll move onto the new system for storage plans. Once you choose a new plan, you'll no longer be able to switch back to old one.
