[Vortez] GTX680 Quad SLI vs HD7970 Quad CrossfireX Review - Page 7

In the Skyrim results....

How does 3 x 680 and 2 x 680's beat 4 x 680's?

There has to be a problem there....

If you really want o see the benefit of quad sli you should look at a review site that tests in surround mode at something like 5760x1080. The numbers make a lot more sense there.

With quad sli you run into a CPU bottleneck on a single 1080p monitor so adding more cards will net you no results.

Look at the tri sli vs quad sli result on triple monitor and it makes a lot more sense though

Look at this review for example

1080p there is a ONE frame per second difference from 2 way to quad sli

Scroll down to the 5760x1080p test and the difference is over 30 FPS between two way sli and quad sli.

I considered the time and effort that went into the "review". And a turd is still a turd no matter how many hours it takes you to polish it. If you don't like my opinions on topics I have first hand knowledge and experience with, don't read them. Most mice have scroll wheels on them. I agree. It would appear they rushed this. Its not even a review, is it?

Tbh I would not even read xfire or sli reviews. It is obvious Nvidia will improve scaling, card is too new.
AMD are only gettin their act together now with 12.4.
