Besides, Crysis 1 also has many weak points; the textures for the building and barrels are very dull and have that Source-engine "fakeness" to them.
The interior of buildings, and subs in Crysis all look much worse than Crysis 2.

This minor things jump at you on every corner , there is a long list of things that is vastly inferior in Crysis 2 compared to the original , it took them 3 years to release graphically inferior game.
I won't even try to explain that to you , you lose any credibility stating that Crysis 2 stock textures are better than Crysis 1 ........ after this statement our conversation is like trying to explain how colors look to a color blind person , utterly pointless.
I guess some people see it some don't , I'm just happy to be on the other side.

EDIT Wait !! did you just say that foliage in Crysis 2 looks better than in original ??? lachen.gif
I think this concludes this brief conversation, you're either trolling or just really , really ................

I wish Crytek would just forget that Crysis 2 ever happened and have Crysis 3 continue where Warhead left off and have Nomad, Prophet, Psycho, and the rest like crazy Dan and muffins all battling the ceph together. That would be epic. I don't even care if it's a console port at this point, I just want Crysis back.

GRAPHICS GRAPHICS HYPE HYPE blah blah blah, what about gameplay??? this is going to be another Crysis 2 boo hoo...

Looking forward to it.

Games every year now it seems.

I wouldn't mind a new Battlefield every couple years.... That would be exciting, plus noone would switch every new COD every year like they do.... every year already..

I guess some people see it some don't , I'm just happy to be on the other side.

Crysis foliage greatly can be greatly improved through texture packs, but at stock it is not perfect. If you take a look at BF3, the palm trees in Wake Island are far better than Crysis 1's famous plam trees. Same for common temperate trees, which are better implemented in Crysis 2. Grass in the last level of Crysis 2 is also quite superior to Crysis 1's stock grass.

Trust me as a graphics modder, I know quite well the weaknesses of Crysis 1. Did you ever look at the interior of the building in Crysis 1? How bland and unrealistic it looks. Crysis 1 also has an incredible amount of very weak textures; but we don't dwell on the bads, we focus on the vastness. But since, you said Crysis 2 is "vastly inferior," just because of a few bad textures. Then how do you excuse these bad textures in Crysis 1?

Crysis 1: Max Graphical setting, no mod.

As well as interior in Crysis 1: Max Graphical setting, no mod.

As I said, both are great games, but both are far from perfect with many weak points. However, Crysis 2 at its best is better than Crysis, due to the many features that CryEngine 3 has that CryEngine 2 does not.

Game, set, match. Anybody who thinks Crysis 1 looks better than 2 is just blinded by their console-hating nerd-rage...

So if something is not possible in all platforms (PS3, 360, PC) they will not include it.
In short no matter what Cryteck does and did with Crysis 2 was done using 2005 Tech.
So PC cant have anything over 360 or PS3 because it will ruin it for the Console gamers.
Lost a customer right there.

I could picture something like this coming from a spoiled 12 year old.

It makes perfect sense to me. You dont slap a guy driving a ferrari with a speed restrictor (governor) cause he was driving faster than a buick on the autobahn do you?

Crysis 2 with the patches and dx11 looked ALOT better than 1 did, I think people forget how much 1 has aged now. Also think just because it runs badly on most machines that its just so hard to run and good looking when really it was down to poor optimization.
Crysis 2 with the patches and features looks amazing, the setting tho is no where near as good as warhead's I will give you that.
