The track record for f2p mmos and games in general isn't very good as I understand it. I've watched a few videos of gw2 stuff and I am not impressed at all. It seems to be a more pvp oriented game, if you like pvp then it may be the game for you. But it definitely isn't for me. The graphics aren't impressive to me in the slightest and what I've read about the gameplay and such it will be like every other mmo just with a different theme. I don't think it will kill wow or even come close. As far as the wow mop haters, they are doing quite a few things that have been asked for for a long long time with mop. I don't think it will flop.

Wait for the beta to come online then get actual players experiences with the game. Then and only then will its potential as a wow killer be known. In my mind the only chance it has is that it is f2p, that alone will draw many people to it at first. But as mentioned above f2p games have a bad track record and aren't very successful (to my knowledge) so it will likely fade into obscurity like so many before it. The mmo scene needs something cutting edge and drasticly different before there will be a wow killer. Based on Blizzards success with wow and my own personal experiences with it the only thing that might kill wow will be blizzards next mmo. They just did virtually everything right and it's gonna be hard to beat that.
