Macs are insecure and hiding behind obscurity and ignorance isn't going to help Apple. Of course denying does, but that's why no scientific institute uses Apple servers, laptops of PC's. Especially as privilege isn't hard to break. If someone wanted to run some piece of software on your PC they'd do it with or without your consent. Of course it's a little harder when there's security but to pretend that having some form of secure privilege is going to make it impossible is almost as laughable as the Apple vs. MS adverts.

Also what's tiresome is the claim that malware can be avoided through wise use of the internet when a mod has already stated that this website was infected.
Either most people don't read anything and just spam or they ignore the obvious and keep spamming. I facepalmed so much I got a headache doh.gif

They're not, show me how they are..

It's the point of OSX software very little software can auto execute.

Ohio State University most definatley uses MP work stations, MP clusters, and leopard server, and Xgrid.

Thanks for the links, proving that they don't use Apple servers, mere work stations (Harvard), and that they dual or even triple boot most of their OS' (Santa Clara). I hope those people have AV's on those machines.

No actually they don't actually look at the link and add..The Dells run Linux and Windows and The MP's and iMac's OSX, and low and behold the Private physic's lab ya know science has MP's again, so I guess maybe Mac's are actually use in science, and that was one little college I'v never heard of.

I really needn't do damage control.

How are they insecure? OS X Lion has better security than Windows 7 right now as it has implemented application sandboxing.

From what I remember, it was an advertisement that caused harmful redirects, but it was quickly reported by the members and taken care of.
