It's with a bit of a heavy heart that HeadRoom shares news from our insider folks at DENON-USA that the lauded and beloved AH-D2000, AH-D5000, and AH-D7000 headphones have been officially discontinued by the manufacturer effective immediately. As DENON's top headphone retailer, HeadRoom has tons of all three models on back-order with DENON right now and regrettably we have been informed not to expect any of the quantities we ordered. In fact, we may not be able to get any of those three headphones back in stock before the "new" versions are released sometime during summer 2012. There does still exist a remote chance we'll be able to land a few of the last of these headphone mohicans before they're completely gone -- but we're just not sure since DENON is not releasing any further information at this time. Unfortunately, HeadRoom is presently already sold-out on most of these models. Also to be discontinued is the noise-cancelling DENON AH-NC800.
The announced DENON 'replacement' for the AH-D7000 (one of all-time faves at the HeadRoom fort!) will be the AH-D7100EM [$1,199 msrp]; the replacement for both the D2000 and D5000 models will be the AH-D600EM [$499 msrp]. Also slated are brand-new models AH-D400EM @ $399, AH-C400EM @ $349, and AH-C300EM @ $249. No delivery ETA or pre-release data is available yet regarding the new headphones, but please stay tuned to our HeadRoom FB forum for the latest updates direct from the DENON mothership in Japan as soon as we get 'em!
