RE5 was okay, the story mode was kinda boring but the Mercenaries online was worth it. RE4 on Gamecube was awesome.

lol my god what a shame if i told myself a few years ago the direction RE was going id laugh and think its a big joke told.

I haven't played a good RE game ever since 0&1 remake came out for the gamecube. Don't get me wrong even tho i enjoyed RE 4 I don't consider it a true RE game due to ridiculous shift to "action game" rather than survival horror.( don't even get me started on random shop guy/glowing infinite ammo, not to mention doing karate chop lol and as i used to joke around judo chop to zombies)

I find it sad they said they are now going from survival horror to horror......what survival horror resident evil 4-5 and specially 5 more it was just a action game with random monsters thrown in it. RE 6 was a complete abomination. Have people in capcom remembered what made their games great and genre as a whole.... i F hate all this COD run and gun gameplay and retard proof difficulty in games nowadays and a great shame that this is the way its coming to.

look at silent hill another great serie with "survival horror" gone down to COD gameplay.

P.S- go play RE0-1-2-3-code veronica(specially RE directors cut in old ps1) and try to judo chop anything all zombies/etc would tear you apart like they should, ammo was hard to find and you always felt like you are in hell and running for your life and using your wits to survive not go devil may cry/god of war/COD and spam and gun and shoot everything without worry.

I am sure i am not alone on this, and sorry for RE 4 fans (many out there im sure) i wish they called it something else tho and swapped leon id be a great game anyways but not "RE".

Thank god i quit gaming in console its turned to COD/carebear easy mode fest/etc after the end of ps2 era, ill stay with my snes/etc. And man do i miss good old console rpg look at where final fantasy headed also lol.

why cant they get it threw there thick heads, we want a survival horror game like resi 1. not a run and gun game.

Resident Evil hasn't been Rseident Evil since Code Veronica

Resident Evil 4 was a great Resident Evil title, and I'd probably say it's my favorite if I was being truthful. Revelations was pretty good as well.

Resident Evil 5 was an alright game, but having to drag a worthless AI through levels that were clearly designed almost entirely with co-op in mind made it worse than it should have been. Africa was also a very disappointing setting compared to RE4 and earlier games.

RE6 looks like it'll be a great action game and I'm looking forward to playing it, but I'm looking to Shinji Mikami's "Zwei" for my survival horror fix.

part of the intensity of the first couple of games came from the fact that the controls were clunky as all hell... once i was adjusted, i never had an issue with it...

i dont feel like i enjoy the later ones quite as much simply because i am not very apprehensive about engaging a zombie, or group of zombies... in the first couple games, you really needed to pick your battles because ammo was scarce and avoiding zombies was as viable a tactic as killing them.

RE4 was one of the best games ever made. RE5 was fun but it lost the survival horror/combat balance of 4 that made it great. No doubt RE6 will be fun but I think they've kind of lost their way.

Oh God, it looks like they're going for the live action crap where you have to push a button to do something...

I guess they think they'll make more money if they dropped everything that made RE unique and went with this COD trend. Maybe it's just me but good old survival horror games gave me more of an adrenalin rush than all these run and gun types that are popping up nowadays. I must be getting old.
