Well first off I must say that this is amazing!

Secondly, @OP, is this something you would be willing to put up what is needed to build this and make a guide or do something like patent it and see if you can sell it to a company?

Because either way I want one... and would pay out the wazoo for it too...

thumb.gif Great job OP, I look forward to further developments thumb.gif

The problem is that these are not that easy to build, you would need to have PCBs manufactured and need the right hardware to program the microcontroller, so it would be very limited who would be able to actually build one, plus there are no guarantees it will be able to pick up the right sensors in the various hardware, motherboard, GPU etc. I only have a very limited selection to test on.

So unless someone wants to team up to sell these, I don't think it's likely they will be for sale.

It was meant more as inspiration for others to build stuff.

That said, I will probably have a couple of PCBs left over when I'm done, that I would be willing to part with.

While waiting for the PIC controllers to arrive (should be here by tomorrow biggrin.gif) so I can get all 3 running at the same time, I had a go at a Battlefield 3 skin. Photo isn't so good, my camera seems to have a problem getting the colors right, or maybe it's just me eh-smiley.gif. Anyway this is what it looks like:

398

If anyone wants to have a go at a skin, it's very simple, just a 240x320 sized image, the top 40 lines are available and it's possible to do a 5 pixel border. Also a gradient for the chart colors, must be 40 pixels high, width doesn't matter.

Example: Diablo skin:

320

And the gradient I use:

40

It's best to use a lossless format, e.g. PNG to avoid compression artifacts.

If anyone posts a skin, I'll do a run with it and post a picture.

Yea that is kinda what I figured, either way, good luck! hope it works as well as you hope it too

Got the missing PIC controllers today: wheee.gif

380

I should be able to get all 3 running together over the weekend, still got a bit of programming to do to synchronize the screens across 3 controllers.

Is it one USB connection for all three board? Or one USB per board?

It's one USB connection per controller, I've installed a tiny USB hub on top of my PSU and then made a short cable to the MB:

BRB directing all my friends to this thread :S good luck in getting those 3 displays fully functional!

Thanks, yeah, I agree the theory is overrated until you find a good use for it smile.gif .. They should just be teaching the truth, namely that all electronic components are filled with magic smoke, from the factory, to make them function. Occam's razor, it's the simplest explanation so it must be the truth. smile.gif
