Thread Starter
Hi Members,

i need Help for my Mutli Media Center. When i wake up in the morning i just hear the boxed Fan from my Conroe 2,6 Ghz Cpu.

The Center is running 7/24, I need help for a Silent Cooler without any Dezibel > 0 db... because i dont want to hear anythink.

I only know the Noctua NH-U9 or Noctua NH-U12, knows someone other Cooler without any Fan ?

Please help me

Thx

As far I know, those heatsinks are not really designed to operate without a fan. They just come without a fan so you can pick your own fan.

Here is another one:

Here is a SilenX CPU cooler that's rated at 12-24dBA:

And here is a 14dBA 120mm fan that pushes 58CFM of air.:

I do recommend against passive cooling. Given you have a quiet media system, I don't expect you have a good airflow in the case. Passive heatsinks rely heavily on passive airflow. You'll have overheating issues if you go passive. I would recommend the ThermalRight of the big Noctua with the quiet SilenX fan

Chozart, the silentx fans that claim 14 dba at obscene CFM ratios are horse puckey. same thing with their CPU heatsinks. they are also overpriced, so i'd steer clear of them. a Scythe Ninja Rev.B is a perfect candidate for the system. it was designed to ruin passively, so a low RPM fan should compliment it perfectly. something like the Scythe S-Flex 800rpm 120mm fan should do. also, go visit http://www.silentpcreview.com/forums/ and post this over there. everyone (including me) on that site is so anal-retentitive about computer noise.
