Help me pick a video card for Diablo 3

Thread Starter
My requirements would be that it runs Diablo 3 at 1920x1080 with stable fps 50+, Looking for a card specifically just for this game.

Can it be done for around $100? any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Here's what I'm considering buying at the moment.

Hmm, I'd recommend a 6850 (it's been close to $100 on a deal) look on slickdeals. Not sure how a GTX 460 fares though...

although since you are on a budget, you might be able to get a used 6870 for $100, just look around

My brother has a Sapphire Vapor-X 5770 and was able to play it on high settings with no frame rate issues at all (on a 1920x1080 display).

You should be able to snag one for around that price on sale or after rebate or something.

Think my OP video card could handle the job?

I'd like something new, if possible, shipped under 110$

the problem is, is to powerfull of a gpu will slow your gaming down, because of a cpu bottleneck, id get a gtx 460 and call it a day

If you can spare 20 bucks this XFX 6850 1GB can be had for 119 after MIR.

I have the same problem in all Blizzard games (WoW, SC2, D3 beta) where my card can run the game fine with max details but suddenly just downclocks to 405mhz which then causes lag. I've tried forcing 2d and 3d profiles to no avail. Hopefully this isn't your biggest challenge at playable FPS tongue.gif

I was able to pretty much max out everything at 1920x1080 on my 5770. Even the CPU bottleneck wasn't an issue. D3 isn't really a hugely stressing game.

Ran like a champ with my Sapphire Vapor-X 5750 on 1920 x 1080. No issues what so ever.

Think I'm gonna go with the 460, unless anyone can find a better deal within 24 hours
