That wasn't actually aimed at you...read the thread for context.

It was aimed at everyone that said I was incorrect to begin with.

Aaaaand:

So I will repeat...Since I was right the first time...

If you were involved in ANY Beta event PRIOR to these "open Beta events" your NDA still exists until launch...This current event NOR any future event RELEASES you from THAT NDA.

This is WRONG:

Not my screenshot since i'm too lazy to make my own:

And you will be subject to a breach of contract + whatever else NcSoft chooses to lop on if you indeed participated previously and have violated your agreement.

Edit: Lawyer clarification ~ After raids this evening we discussed this and the way Anet has the GW2 splash screen worded, it applies to only these events and not the previous...So, you can discuss whatever happens in these events, freely...Anything before these events, negative...

The way you are putting this across is just going to confuse people. The question posed on Twitter was whether the NDA for the Alpha would lift this weekend.

Will the NDA for the Alpha lift with the NDA for the beta for this weekend?

No it will not. ~RB2

No. That NDA is permanent.

Are there plans to lift it in the coming months?

To clarify what Rubi said: the NDA for previous events will not lift. They will be in effect indefinitely. ^RB

The NDA for Alpha events is in effect. That means you cannot discuss or share screenshots of what you have seen or done in Alpha.

The NDA for this upcoming event is lifted. You can discuss the Beta weekend freely. If you participated in Alpha you can discuss what you do in this upcoming event (but not what you've done in past events) freely.

They have made this quite clear, even on their Twitter page.

I am running Chairty event while streaming for 48 hours tomorrow would it be against NDA if I left the login open tonight?

There is no NDA for the Beta Weekend Event. ^RB

There is no NDA for this Beta weekend. You just cannot discuss what you've done previously in Alpha. If you wasn't allowed to discuss anything to do with this weekend having been in Alpha they would have made it quite clear and direct that you wasn't allowed to.

I hope that makes more sense.

Oh and if you're in Alpha, or have been in Alpha, you shouldn't even be telling anyone here you're in Alpha. You're breaking NDA. ;)

I do understand it may be confusing and in the future, I will attempt to be more mindful of my outgoing information...However, he's more/less discussing the closed beta...But, we're not allowed to talk about it, eh tongue.gif

Not saying he doesn't know some stuff but every one of his posts is full of sheer arrogance and telling everyone else about how little they know.

I only know about the games I worked on...When you spend 5+ years as the Admin of a Major computer manufacturer, in a beta office...You tend to work on a lot of games and software applications thumb.gif

I'm a confident person because of what I know so, I apologize if you're offended by that but, that's your business, not mine.

Flattered you posted in here Hexa, thanks thumb.giftongue.gif

Yeah, current drama aside, performance is harsh for me on my sigrig, even with settings at lowest, lol.

Game is awesome though. Rocking Ele and Phoenix is boss.

I was so close to pre ordering this game so I could play the beta but then Diablo III release date was so close I'm just waiting for it, I still can't wait for Guild Wars 2 release though!

Thread Starter
Just wanted to follow up on my performance tests. I played for awhile under a few configurations: with GPU/CPU overclocks, without GPU/CPU overclocks, with and without hyperthreading.

Conclusions:

- Don't disable your CPU overclocks. They matter! From 3.3Ghz to 4.7Ghz I gained average 15-20 FPS.
- Hyperthreading does nothing. (on/off won't hinder performance but having it on won't provide any performance)
- GPU overclocks do nothing. (overclocks won't hinder performance but won't provide any performance)
- SLI does nothing. (this was obvious)

In-game setting notes:

- Resolution affects FPS the most. As far as graphic effects -- shaders and shadow seem to affect FPS the most. I didn't see any drop in FPS from the other settings -- although textures may drop performance if you don't have adequate video memory.

Yuou make it sound like the game will be released next month

I need to say that I have great hopes in that game and I wish it turns out to be a blast. But I won't be pre-purchasing it before I read some reviews from the beta week ends.

Lol you're really misinformed

The game is amazing, and that list of reported bugs isn't anything that cannot be solved by the release date (which is MONTHS away!!!!)

Remember that big games like this always get drivers dedicated to increasing performance, especially with multi-gpu setups, so remain calm crossfire/sli users smile.gif

In the grand scheme of things, TOR is a bigger game than GW2. TOR has not gotten drivers from AMD or Nvidia and it's been out 5 months. Don't count your chickens before they hatch.

Beyond that, they've stated that it's not GPU related issues killing performance.

Then again, last hour I played wasn't even client based performance that was the problem.
