NOOB Chipset Question

Thread Starter
I have never water cooled my chipset before but think it might be getting close to about the right time to start.

Anybody have any recommendations for chipset water cooling thats not too loud or bulky? I already have a cramped case because of my Phase evap tube and head...

Last will it even be worth the cost and effort or am I ok with my aftermarket air cooling (Thermaltake)...

I dont really think you need to WC your NB, Just go with active cooling...Like this..Swiftech MCX159-CU Extreme Duty All-Copper Heatsink w/ 40mm Fan (Out of Stock)

I already use that one...I will be increasing my vMCH to over 2.01 with a small mod I am doing and dont think my current air system will be enough. To compound things I have no mounting holes in the mobo and only have two hooks which are used to clip whatever cooling solution I use to the mobo. The clip works but its not as tight as I would have liked.

I got two of those babies for my overclocked folding rig, North and South (WC on the CPU BTW). And so far, my NB is running at 30c with 100% CPU utilization and the ram is at 1.1GHZ 5-5-5-5 timings. Not bad for an air cooled NB heatsink.

Just beware, the fan is a little loose when you get it. If you tighten it too much, you will bend the delicate copper fins and push some of them up into the fan. Which, of course, makes it NOT go.

Yep thats the one im using too but after my vMCH is modded it will hit 2.1 to 2.2 and I wasnt sure this heatsink could handle it...

No mounting holes...Off hand I dont know, your already using that Swifty, like frankenpc said that is one of the better ones....I'll jot down your board type and when I'm surfing parts stores I'll keep an eye out for air or water blocks for you.....I dont know anything about Intel boards so if I bring in one that doesn't work just bear with me.....
