My system uses only 385w gaming, and its much more powerful than what you have.
The CX500 is not a very good PSU and one to avoid, the GS500 is slightly better.
Some choices, not sure to where you live.
Be Quiet BN191 Straight Power E9 450W
Seasonic Bronze S12II-520
Be Quiet BN181 Pure Power L8 530W
Silverstone Tech. Strider 500 W

I'm starting to get really confused about the PSU right now. I'll take your word on the CX500, but the 4 models you mentioned are only sold online at my locale. That will make it harder for me to bargain. I live in Netherlands.
The shop I'm visiting in a few hours only sells Corsair, Cooler Master, OCZ and Trust. I'm convinced Trust is Trash.

Basically I have to choose between the OCZ ModXStream Pro 500W and the Corsair GS500. I'm actually leaning towards the OCZ now after reading some reviews.

Get the GS500 over the OCZ. Thats why I mentioned the other models, didnt know where you lived.

Where I live, OCZ is the worst for PSU. More RMA and defects than any other company.
Forget about support, say anything bad, and they dont help.

Looks like the GS500 is my safest bet. I don't wanna end up with a defect in the future, and I've seen other people speaking of unreliability in the OCZ.
Since I want to be able to use my new build tomorrow I won't be ordering a PSU online.

I'm from the Nether Lands.

Just bought a 6870 and the OCZ ModXStream Pro 500W for €209,-. They didn't have the GS500 in stock. Hope I'll be satisfied with this, thanks for your help.

I'd say try to grab a cheap 6950 1GB (nobody wants those... I bought mine for $110 off craigslist).

Also, try to grab a new PSU when you can... don't want that thing blowing out on you.

EDIT: Nevermind, lol. Hope it all works out for ya dude.

Here's a good article that does a GPU comparison ahead of the early access build.

How's it working? I got a co-worker who asked me to help him build a PC for GW2.
