Corsair H100 Help

Thread Starter
I just installed my H100, no problem. Now I cant figure out the fan control. Your supposed to just push the button in the middle to select the fan speeds, correct?

When i choose 1, 2, or 3 there is no difference. Fans spin the same, slow, speed. I have both fans plugged into the waterblock, the waterblock plugged into a 4 pin MOLEX, and the three pin connected to the CPU fan input.

338

Any suggestions? I have scoured youtube and the internet watching people install them the same way I did, but they can adjust the fan speed.

When you load the CPU the fans will speed up when temps go up. Run prime 95 n test
post #3 of 9
i had the same setup, except i did not plug the 3 pin into anything, just the molex connector for (i think power?). i could change the fan speed at idle, and did not have to apply any stress to get it to kick in.

Thats what I thought too. I just re-ran intel burn test again to make sure. Temps got up to 57C but fan speed didnt change. I have it set to the highest setting on the waterblock. I also have my CPU Q-fan, or whatever its call, in the BIOS set to fun the cpu fan at 100% at 20C.

One thing you can try, press and hold the button on the top of the block for 5-7 seconds. The unit should reset itself. Now check if the fan speed changes.

Also, are you using the stock fans? There's little change in noise from those fans. Get some AP-15's or Noctua F12's.

Finally though, if no fan speed is changing then your unit is faulty. Just RMA it. I sent my second H100 for RMA and a new one came back in 9 days.

I had the same exact problem. Tried everything. Gave up and went to complete WC instead LOL. I believe my unit was faulty though. Tried all the possible solutions, yet nothing.

Well, when I reset it the fans spin all the way up and then slowly come back down to an idle. I can hear the slightest difference in fan noise between the lowest setting and the highest. In the videos i've seen the noise difference between low and high with stock fans in tremendous.

I might plug some other fans I have laying around into it and see what happens. I probably wont RMA it right away because Im planning on going with a full loop at the end of summer and I really dont want to be without my computer for a week or more lol. Withdrawals!!

It also seems to be work pretty good at just idle fan speed since my max temp after a burn test @ 5Ghz is 57c.

Strange that it will spin the fans all the way up but then bring them back down even when on the highest settings. It also does this when I start the computer.

Just grab a 2-to-1 fan header extension , plug it into a header on your mobo. All done. smile.gif

I made one. It does exactly the opposite lol. It keeps the fan speed at max even if I set it 20%.
