Intel has a plan.isnt there a new graphene copper cooler that was said to keep cooler?just use a graphene based termal paste.steel is stron but you dont see them on radiator for a reason .by the time it has finally cooled your part are long gone intel should use aluminium or carbon fiber to get the heat away from proc.yes steel take longer to heat up but it take longer to kooldown wich make fan speed dynamic adjusting false sinxe by the time the steel cove is hot the inner is way hotter .with aluminium you would have more precise temperature management.

There is absolutely no steel whatsoever in fluxless solder. It has, historically, been tin and lead, but it's mostly composed of tin and gold now, though I'm sure there are other exotics mixed into that.

Edit: Or are you talking about the IHS? I'm never quite sure what you're talking about.

I guess we all should protest this bs, and not buy the chips till they been revised... But that really make you think Ivy Bridge must be a hell of a chip, cause it still perform stock for stock better than sandy bridge with a crappy thermal compound on it.. LOL!!!

Honestly.if the cooling market(wich have insanelly smart guys these days find how to cool directly without the steel cover .they just created a whole different field and if i recall most cooler use aluminium wich is way better termal conductor .

Intel CPU Heat spreaders are made of plated copper, which is a much better conductor of heat than aluminium or steel. Have a look at some images of lapped CPU's and you can clearly see the copper.

Isnt the cover(heat spreader made of steel.the one we can touch?one thing is sure if this is intentional .this mean one thing they completelly ignore anything amd can come up with yet .they dont speak too much about they cooling method so their speed could be related to greater cooling techno then amd .and the smaller proc get the higher performing the cooling solution will need to be
