IMO, yes. The extra 2MB cache makes the CPU perform a couple hundred MHz faster.

If you have the money get the e6600 hands down. The e6300 and e6400 are nice alternatives but are just that alternatives.

Not to mention x9 multi will give you more FSB room...

Errr, no it doesnt. Not even close.

I'd get the e6600 for two reasons:

1) Bragging rights (conroe opposed to allendale)
2) Higher CPU multiplier (IE tighter dividers/less stress on ram)

Err, yes it does. 200Mhz (roughly) faster

many people say it gives a few hundred more mhz, so before saying no thats not right atleatst have some back up

bragging rights *** lol

i think its worth it, the multi will allow for better overclocks as you wont be needing to have a huge fsb to attain the same overclocks as the e6300

The difference for the Cache size is really not that much at all. Im surprised I would of thought doubling the cache size would of had a much larger effect. its 10% absolute max faster for the same ammound of MHz than the 2mb cache chips.

I would go with the E6300 it really fast compared to every thing but the other C2Ds.

With the E6600 you get some bragging rights and a bit faster processor.
If you are trying to get the most power possible the E6600 is the way to go. If your interested in Value for money and want a really powerful system but you are not trying compete with the highest overclockers on this site then go with the E6300.

A E6300 still beats a 4800+ AM2.
