honestly you won't notice a difference in speeds b/w any current high end SSD.
In summary what I want to know is 1) Should I upgrade my motherboard to a SATA 3 board, maybe another x58 with SATA 3
No, if you upgrade get ivy or sandy bridge, X58 boards only have crappy Marvell SATA 3 ports, not native.
and 2) Which SSD Should I get for performance and reliability? Thanks for all the help so far.
Samsung and Intel are top for reliability in the market.
Also, you could look into the Plextor M3 or Corsair Performance Pro, but all of these are a lot more than the Mushkin.
