Can I use this video card?

Thread Starter
Will this video card work with my power supply?

Thanks in advance

Video card: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814102948

Power Supply: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139008

My concern is if I have all the right connectors, and if the psu is strong enough.

That graphics card requires minimum 500watts power supply

Do you have your CPU overclock?

No, nothing I have ATM is overclocked..

Would still work, with the 400w? Or is it absolutely required to have 500w?

The PSU appears to have only 1 6-Pin connector. The card needs two 6 pin PCI-E Connectors. And the power draw of the card appears to be around 170 watts.

Personally I would Upgrade PSU.

You will be way more than fine.

400W is plenty, ignore the 500W recommendation.

EDIT: You can simply use molex to PCI-E adapters if you don't have 2 PCI-E plugins. It'll be fine and the card should come with some for you to use.

Wow really?

What is molex?

Would this impact my performance?

Also why do you say its fine and everyone says its not?

BTW I don't use a CD/DVD Drive and only a SSD and Hard dive if this helps power wise.

I'd like to not upgrade the psu if possible.

Any recommendations on a decent PSU? The one I have now is horrible anyway, it makes a electronic buzzing sound since the day I got it.
I'm trying to spend as little cash as possible, any help is appreciated.

How much are you willing to spend?

I had a 5770 (requires 450watts) and I bought a 500watts PSU.

What happened? The PSU toasted lol

I think its better get a new PSU

400w will be more than plenty. I'm running a 5830 with a Q8400 on a 350w PSU right now, and it has been running ok for 1 year now.
