Xeon x5450 help

Dear All,

I am running a HP xw8600; it has one xeon x5450 CPU (LGA 771 socket) with a 28 GB ECC memory. I have a 500 GB WD SATA II for OS/applications plus 4 x 500 GB Raid 5. The system is 3 1/2 years old. It is still in a good condition. I was thinking of keeping it until Haswell or Skylake with a replacement motherboard (if necessary) and an overclocked CPU.

HP does not allow OC and the system is already out of warranty. I am aware that xeon is a tricky processor to overclock. Please advise.

Issues to consider if I have to replace the mobo to OC:

Mobo
PSU
RAID 5
Cooler.

Thanks in advance,
SSri.

The HP mobo is 0A98h. If there is a way to unlock the bios, it may be then possible to OC it.
