Help XFX 7900GS XT

Thread Starter
I have the XFX 7900GS Xtreme edition (PCIX16). The stats show that it runs at 480 core 1400 mem. But it shows up in the drivers at 480 core and 7xx mem. I installed the coolbit to oc it but the driver only go to 8xx on the mem. Do I need a new driver or is there something wrong with my card? 3dmark06 doesn't show anything for mem or core freq. I am running the card on an Asus P5B Deluxe Wi/fiAp is there a setting in Bios that will make the drivers read the card right. Any suggestions at all or help will be greatly appreciated.

1400MHz is the effective clock and 700Mhz is the base clock. The base clock is multiplied by two to give the effective clock. Everything is normal here.

So when I ran optimal and it set the Values to 5xx and 8xx the mem is really 2x that so it would be in the 1600 range correct?

If this is correct than can one of you recomend an after market heat sink and fan for this card I would like to see cooler temps at this speed.

Plus I would like to push the core up a little more.

Yes, 800MHz would be 1600MHz effective. There are a wide range of coolers available, it depends on your budget really.

These are some of the best:
Zalman FC-ZV9
Thermalright HR-03
KuFormula VF1-PLUS
Evercool Turbo2
