The reason BF3 feels different is because it's a new engine. Kind of like how CS1.6 feels different to CS:S. Everyone loves nostalgia, and it's the main reason everyone loves BF2 so much.

The maps aren't small. You want small, go open COD. Nothing is going in the direction of COD. BF3 is adding OPTIONS for all players. OPTIONS. Meaning, you don't have to play them if you don't want to. Nobody is 'catering to the COD gamers.'

Not going to happen. It's already been discussed and there are explanations from DICE as to why not. (It's not all about difficulty)

The individual weapon customization, is Ctrl C, Ctrl V from CoD. BFBC2 had it in moderation with only the sights and weapon class specific upgrades.

The maps, either choke point cluster f.... like Metro and that Tunnell map, or some ridiculously wide open map where nothing but tanks rules.

4 Man squads, No VOIP, teamwork? Lolwut. Its camp tube/snipe, with very few actually arming.

Balance, is just retarded. Almost instant kills with AR's, outsniped by a LMG, because of suppression when you are trying to shoot your bolt action. At 10m< the scope crosshair and actual where the shot lands completely distorted. Stingers being just as usefull as a dildo when trying to send down a heli.

Overuse of Bloom, overuse of lighting (Tact light anyone), annoyingly bright sun no matter what. Geeze, after Atacama dessert in BFBC2 and White Pass. You would think to tone it down. (I run with no bloom and 90FOV in BC2)

Vehicles, Tanks are practically invincible unless gang'd by 2-4 Engie's or C4'd, Helicopters only real threat is Jet's. Jet's seem to be overaccurate.

This game is a CoD wannabe, insult to Battlefield brand, yet people go around saying its the best thing since slice bread.

Can you link anything from DICE on why they won't release mod tools? All I've heard is that they think that it's "too complicated"....

Lets clear things up - I'm not a fan of Call of Duty, but I'm definitely a fan of the playstyle because nothing beats the adrenaline rush of close combat and knowing that death could be just around the corner, your life hinging on your awareness and reflexes. This will be just you and your gun, none of the "hide here in trees till someone shows up" or "pick engineer, grab a tank/heli and troll people".
My concerns:
> Shotgun heaven. The maps should also have plenty of open areas to accomodate sniping and rifles.
> Explosive heaven, especially Claymores / C4. All I can say is that these will get extremely annoying because potentially every doorway you walk through could have a c4/clays around the corner. It shouldn't come down to admins banning explosives (although I'm pretty sure it will).
> Basic vehicles like jeeps should be allowed, if these maps are to really allow 64 players to rampage through it they still need to be fairly huge.

those maps will be made for 16 players max

so it will feel like cod domination mode

lots of explosive spam lots of suppresion..

at least i hope not.. and please dice fix support class ... its now useless other then suppressing the ennemy frown.gif

and to those saying a man cannot carry an m60 machine gun or a m249 and hipfire at full auto you are just wrong

so many videos showing how its easy to handle these lmg's

but why would dice make em have tons of initial recoil and spread?

so we use bi-pods and camp tu suppress the ennemy

talk about nerfing a whole class ...

Not like today's bf3 where you can hit the broad side of a barn after getting shot at...

yeah.. those videos are always deceptive .. wich is sad in the end.. they market their game to showcase gameplay that doesnt ressemble what it is at the moment.. or will they nerf suppresion on release day of that dlc??

1) Vehicles ruin the gameplay for everyone else who wants to spend their time on foot and don't enjoy getting pigeonholed into Engineer just so they can stand a small chance against the extremely overpowered vehicles
3) Narrow streets = tank heaven. Almost impervious to Javelins thanks to buildings, or people sneaking up with C4/RPG's because of very few entry/exits. They basically wheel up and down the area insta-killing anyone who as much as pokes their head around the corner and disappear around the bend to repair. Sure you can sit in cover/buildings, but as soon as you need to move a freaking tank comes along and ruins your day. It eventually comes down to playing hide-and-seek against tanks, entire streets can be held by a single tank. No thanks.
3) Even buildings don't provide enough cover against stuff like tanks who can simply blow the walls off and instantly kill anyone who happens to be standing behind the wall
For purely balancing purposes, vehicles have no place in close-quarters combat and building-based maps. They are free to roam the wide open fields of Wake Island, Caspian, Firestorm, Kharg, etc.

vehicules needs to be OP

a tank shell should have more then decent splash damage against infantry and mobile AA should shred infantry .. but a good squad that consist of engineer support and medic and maybe an odd recon with either soflam or mav could take out that armor and help out the team in general.. this is what teamwork in battlefield is for.. take out that OP stuff as a team and deny them that airspace or ground with at mines or mobile AA at certain areas or good chopper to counter those pesky choppers ... afterall this game wasnt meant for lonewolfing was it?

The only reason we're getting this expansion before Armored Kill is because the smaller maps are the most played. If you want to blame anyone, blame the community. It's not like you're being forced to play these maps either. There's plenty of other maps if you want that classic Battlefield style of play.

how are they sticking with their roots by implementing suppresion?

wich makes a skill based game pretty much random luck.. or even a reaction based game.. pre-patch i would survive 30% of my engagement if i was caught from behind.. right now i have a problem surviving most .. and i need to be up against a ****ty players to survive .. yeah the kind that misses a while clip near point blank ranges ..

what does that say about skill?

now imagine this in a super tight area with destructable cover in every places... spray and pray

this feels like cod even more.. to wich i tried on the free weekend.. and i have to say it was bad ...

but dont get me wrong.. i love cqb fights.. but at least make the maps large to some extent and have 64 players ... not that metro stuff .. seine crossing is halfway into cqb and halfway into that large conquest feel and one of my favorite maps

Their first trailer for the cqc pack also showed a TAR-21 assault rifle. I remember that because it's one of my favourite aesthetically and I love the look of bullpups in general.

the mtar-21 is the micro version of the tar-21 wich they might introduce to engineer class or as a pdw .. who knows ... we will have to see

Can we stop this? If you don't like BF3 and the fact it's a little more fast paced than BF2, that's fine. However, people need to stop calling it a Call Of Duty clone. Even with the faster pace and some smaller maps, it plays and feels nothing like Call Of Duty. There's many mechanics that make it dramatically different and I don't see a single bit of CoD influence in the game.
Also.. I really don't understand when people say a game has been "consolized."

the ui have been made console friendly..
selling unlocks to the scrubs so they dont feel left out when they join the game 6months after release
and all those noob friendly nerfing and buffing of some guns

wink.gif ohh and suppresion is made for the casual gamers who dont have time to perfect skill.. wich in the end is the console kiddies

and on top of that it will show us whats the pricing or how the gameplay feels 1 week in advance so we will decide if we buy it or not.. wich is a good thing i guess

Pretty much. By the sound of it, the Frostbite 2 engine is their holy grail of gaming technology, and they're going to be using it for every game from this point forward. They don't want to give away mod tools for their precious engine.

I like big maps if they're done well, love BF2, but I find that Operation Firestorm for example is poorly made cause it feels very empty even on 64 player servers most of the time. Bigger is not better, and I am really looking forward to CQ coming out.

Also, what I would love to see in BF3 is a "Terrorist Hunt" mode like in Rainbow Six. I freakin loved Terrorist Hunt.

Well no duh, BF3 and BF2 feels "too different" because they're almost a decade apart. If you want slow paced gameplay go play Arma, obviously people like faster paced gameplay more than walking around a map for 2 minutes just to get killed by a sniper sitting in a bush somewhere across the map. If you want there to even be a Battlefield 4 they have to make these critical changes, because like i said, nobody likes walking around a map for 2 minutes; that doesn't mean they "copied" CoD. Just because CoD puts stuff in their game doesn't mean other games can't to do it too. Because I like choice, i like having to be able to choose between a Reflex and a Kobra because i think the reflex's frame is too thick.

Battlefield is integrating smaller maps and faster paced gameplay because people WANT that kind of gameplay. You should really go play Arma dude, you'll probably like it more than you ever liked BF2, snail pace gameplay, tactical gameplay.
