Difference between Zowies

(EC1 and EC2) vs (EC1 eVo and EC2 eVo)... They are all the same price. What changed in the eVo models?

OK, I went back to their site and finally found the info on the original EC1-2 mice. Seems like only the internals changed, and not that much. Discussions on newer models don't seem all that great. Would you suggest the original editions?

Don't seem that great? Every single post has said it was good...

I have the original Zowie EC2 white. I love the shape, but I'm changing over to the Evo once released in the U.S. I hate prediction. The mouse buttons feel more firm, and responsive from what I'm heard.

If he was objective on the bashing, and highlighted points that were not discussed to death already, I would have some respect for those reviews.

But at the moment it feels like he's repeating the same old flaws that are known by everyone who reads the forums adding quite a lot of subjective opinions.

His principle to demonstrate that a mouse is good or bad is saying :
" If the x aspect of the mouse is better than the mouse I deem 'perfect', then it is better than the mouse I deem 'perfect'"

This is wrong because he's assuming there's a 'perfect' mouse (WMO) - which is inherently wrong - and he focuses on details, where you would need to focus on how it applies to the mouse as a whole.

One of those things that you learn when studying Discrete Mathematics is that if you have a wrong Hypothesis you can reach any silly Thesis you might want to. So his "dirty-reviews" are no more than a heavily opinionated set of fallacies.

Back on-topic :
If you don't mind prediction AND you need extreme maximum tracking speed, you will be better with the old ECx (where x = {1,2}) .
If prediction is a no-go for you and you never achieve faster movements than 3.2~3.5 m/s, the ECx eVo is for you.

Grats for reading reviews by the most idiotic person ever biggrin.gif

He does this on like all mice with super stupid points, not a review anywhere near his ramble junk.

The only bad thing (for me) about EC2 evo is the coating, its prolly way to slippery for me, which sadly makes the mouse unusable like the DA BE.

I'm in Israel. The one chain of stores that carries Zowie seems to be trying to unload the EC's, before the EC eVo's get here. I can pick one up for about $52 (incl. VAT). Perhaps I'll get a blue one for everyday use, and, if I like it, get an eVo when they arrive.

Thanks for your and the others' help.

Yeup. You can't take any one person's review/opinion of a product, and somehow make any ultimate decisions about how the product will be for YOU.

1) Read lots of reviews(or reviews from people who hold similar perspectives, if possible),
2) Find the consistencies, the things most people seem to say are good or bad about the product,
3) Then buy it, test it, and finally review it yourself(if you're still interested, and not sure about it).

I'm on a mission to find(find = waiting for) a SOLID mouse. I have no tolerance for cheap, frilly, "gamer"-advertised product, after going through years of it. I don't care if the mouse costs $500. There is no excuse, and I give no leniency for such inferiority and utter lack of customization in this day & age. Therefore, I refuse to give nice, happy, optimistic reviews to products that could clearly be MUCH better! (The manufacturer's don't listen to what we want anyway, so what the hail)

So try that EC out, see if YOU like it. wink.gif

I admire your principles. Unfortunately, I don't think that you will ever find that "SOLID" mouse. Most of the mouse manufacturers could produce your mouse, but there's no reason for them to do so. In fact, there's every reason for them not to produce such a mouse. It just doesn't make sense to give the people what they want, not if you want them to continue buying; it just doesn't make good business sense. But, I'm 64, and have become quite cynical in my old"er" age. Perhaps your mouse will come. Me, I'm not even a gamer. I was once, but that was way back when. Now, I simply enjoy playing with my gadgets (at the moment, mice, mouse mats, and mechanical keyboards). I really can't afford it, but I'm a techno-nut who thinks he deserves to have some fun... And it is fun. smile.gif
