Summer Monster Build...Name TBA

Thread Starter
I have recently been convinced to build a monster rig this summer...I have a rig that works just fine at the moment, but I will keep that for my fiance after I build my new rig. I have gotten most all the parts picked I am definitely up for suggestion on virtually every part though. This rig will be ordered and built in August 2012...

My approximate budget $2500-$3000 USD

Hardware

Intel i5 2500k (no sense in going for IB imho)...$179.99 at microcenter...maybe a slight drop after IB

ASUS P8Z77-V Deluxe LGA 1155 Motherboard...$274.99

2x G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800)...$119.98

CORSAIR Professional Series Gold AX1200 (CMPSU-1200AX) 1200W ATX12V v2.31 / EPS12V v2.92 SLI Certified 80 PLUS GOLD Certified...$299.99

EVGA 02G-P4-2680-KR GeForce GTX 680 2GB 256-bit GDDR5 ( MAYBE SLI...if i can afford it with my stated budget)...$499.99

Crucial M4 CT128M4SSD2 2.5" 128GB SATA III MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD)...$159.99

Western Digital Caviar Black WD1001FALS 1TB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive -Bare Drive...$134.99

ASUS Black 12X BD-ROM 16X DVD-ROM 48X CD-ROM SATA Internal Blu-ray Drive Model BC-12B1ST/BLK/B/AS....$57.99

Water Cooling Loop

Swiftech MCP655™ 12v Water Pump w/ Speed Control and 3/8" Conversion Kit (317 GPH)...$104.95

Black Ice GTX Xtreme 480 Radiator - Black...147.95

PrimoChill PrimoFlex PRO LRT Tubing 1/2"ID 3/4"OD with 1/8" Wall - UV Blue...$37.50 15ft

Monsoon Free Center Compression Fitting - 1/2"ID x 3/4"OD - Modders 6 Pack Black Chrome (FCC-1234-6P-BC)...$38.99

Bitspower G1/4" Matte Black Dual Rotary 45-Degree Compression Fitting CC5 For ID 1/2" OD 3/4" Tube (BP-MB45R2CPF-CC5)...$33.98

FrozenQ PC Mods 250mm Liquid Fusion V Series "2nd Generation" Reservoir - UV Cathode - UV Blue Helix...$99.99

Also, I will add my current WC to this: XSPC Raystorm, RS360 rad.

Case, Fans, and other Stuff

CaseLabs STH10....so I will never need another case as long as I live....$700 with s&h

Fans for rads: 4x Scythe Gentle Typhoons...$71.80

Fan Controller: Lamptron FC6 (already have)

Either Blue or UV lighting

Some MDPC sleeving.....approx. $150?

I would love some suggestions and thoughts. I know that the actual build is awhile away, but I am saving my $$$$$ over the summer. Please Sub if you want to watch this monster come together!!thumb.gif

Well, you would save alot of money by buying another case, which would allow you to go 2011

Yeahhhhh...i figured some one would point that out...Its just such a beauty though. Perfectly designed for the end user...

I will definitely consider it though.

EDIT: been looking for a bit and just cant seem to find a stable or solid mobo for the 2011 chipset...any recommendations?

The RIVE should fit perfectly fine in any ATX case, but the Big Bang XPower II needs a XL-ATX case wink.gif
Other than that, I'm pretty unfamiliar with the Big Bang board, never really liked the look thus not interested tongue.gif

I believe there's no huge difference on the boards, so I guess it depends on your color scheme? I would personally go with RIVE, just because I know it's a great company - and the colors looks extremely good imo.
