That is just the theoretical bandwidth limit of a single connection.
The controller has a larger bandwidth which allows multiple ports and devices to saturate.
How do you think people with RAID arrays have been getting over 1GB/s speeds? o.0
so i was right? cause ive never been told thats just my understanding of the controler and how it works
You will get almost a linear increase in speed when adding SSD drives in Raid 0.
I had two corsair Force 3's in Raid 0 earlier, The speeds I got was 900MB read / 800MB write, but I sent my drives in to the manufacturer because of problems with the drives, random shutdowns and bluescreens. That was before the firmeware fix on the sandforce controller.
I am now filling up my Kingston HyperX and want to set it up in Raid 0 with a new drive or two new ones.
I only wondered if there is any known issues on putting different drives Corsair Force 3\ OCZ Agility 3 \ OCZ Vertex 3 in Raid with my current HyperX.
But after thinking on it a little while I think I will buy HyperX drives since I havent had a single issue with my current drive.
