AM is sofar also the best mouse for me. I tested the EC1 and EC2 (eVo's) and like the AM even more now. EC1 is nice for palm, but in my opinion not as comfortable as the Deathadder. EC2 is good for claw, but not good for palm (unless you have really small hands) and not great for fingertip.
AM is good for everything for me, perfect for fingertip, perfect for claw and I can even fully palm it and the finger tips are not sticking out (like with the EC2).
Rubber coating on my AM is much grippier than EC. EC really slips out of my hands, despite the slight \_/ shape, while the AM, despite the /_\ shape, does not. Now that the AM wore in after a couple of months, I have a magnetic grip with it.

The switches are indeed a bit to stiff, but I learned to love the short key travel and prfer stiffer side buttons, while the EC has a really nice click, but feels to mushy and key travel to long and the side buttons are extrmely mushy, so I can push them into the mouse way to far.

Now that the EC is ruled out, I am still looking forward to bst's mouse.

Damn, I really liked this mouse a lot, but the lack of sensitivity adjustment is sort of lame.

I know i would be more accurate using finger tip grip but i like to play video games without getting an RSI and i dont play competitively so palm grip is awesome. And you are correct palm grip is great for this mouse.

I dont understand how some mice make it to market, I would think they would have a bunch of people test a prototype over a few months time and then with the feedback correct every little problem (Ergonomic issues mainly). Is that to much of a desgin philosiphy to ask? Considering how messed up mice seem to be these days i cant think it's all just user preference.

You'll find a large majority of professional FPS players use palm grip.

But to answer your question: a mouse makes it to the market based on what sells. What sells is usually not "the best" in terms of design, utility or capability. Hence the ~5-10 mice with good ergonomics, sensor and software surrounded by an army of trash mice. redface.gif

I love my AM-GS, that is, until it decided to randomly activate buttons on its own after only 38 days while I was in the middle of a match........

My EC2 eVo is (was) horrible in that regard. But now, after using it a week, the grip is much better. I can notice that the parts of the mouse I don't usually touch are still quite slippery. Not the perfect shape, no -- I still prefer light ambidextrous mice, but to me it's better than the AM. I miss AM's weight very much though.
