I had a Samsung Instinct years ago and it was a piece of crap too. After that phone I told myself I would never have another Samsung phone.

The Verizon Nexus is a POS unless you use a rom with 4.0.4.
Quality control might be a bit iffy, the first one I got would drop the entire cell radio if any data over a couple of megabytes transferred over 4G.

Replacement one works well though, firmware updates address a lot of the issues.

It is a good phone - it's fast, has a good screen, decent camera, etc. but that said there are a few things wrong with it.

Saying that there's no point getting an Android phone if you're not going to root is stupid though, ntherblast. There's still a lot more customisation you can do with one without having to mess about with any rooting or anything.

Lol are you kidding other than launchers and some widgets why bother? With root you can get custom ROMs, change the modem, freeze apps, theme your entire phone not talking about widgets, CWM to backup/restore in case you have issues with a theme/ROM, kernels to better calibrate your battery, specific apps on the market that require root, etc

How is it stupid to gain full control of your phone?

My galaxy S2 is an amazing phone, my sister has a Nexus and she loves it.

To the OP, problems with signal quality are likely problems on the carriers end and not a problem with the phone. It's pretty retarded that your actually blaming Samsung over this.

I love my nexus. I'm in a large verizon lte network and have never had my data go out. I wouldn't hesitate to buy another one. I don't think its Samsungs fault.

Many years ago I had the Samsung Glyde...that thing was a POS. But my Samsung captivate has been awesome for the last 2 years. Even after beating the living hell out of it and installing just about every ROM out there. I'm due for an upgrade but I like my phone so much I figured I would wait till the Galaxy S3 comes out.
