ASUS RMA=unacceptable and appalling.. Update - Page 2

Asus sucks. I just RMA'd my Crosshair V motherboard and it took almost a month and a half to get it RMA'd. I got mad in the middle of the RMA and just purchased an EVGA instead. They didn't even know what the problem was with the motherboard.

The company has gotten very bad lately especially with customer support and product quality.

I thought with the ROG line they do the express rma and send you a new one and you ship the old one back, well thats what they say with the first rma at least. I have been hearing a lot of people say that asus says they are out of stock and cant do the express ship. ROG express rma is a big factor in why I spend more for ROG over the regular asus line. If that were to happen to me I probably would boycot them since evga, msi, gigabyte have rma centers within miles of me.

i had the option to do advance RMA but i didnt have enough money to cover the hold (450 dollars) so they went through a normal rma. i dont blame them for that one though.

Oh at least they offered it. Still thats BS how they handled your rma. Asus needs to do something about it because I keep hearing a bunch of this from asus more then ANY other company. I am a rational person too, I know any company can drop the ball from time to time, but it appears to be to be consistent with asus to have totally OFF THE WALL bad rma practice with examples like yours and others too.

I've used strictly ASUS components (mobo, video card, optical drives) for my last 2 builds ( and bought an ASUS laptop also) and have no complaints. Even the 2 times I had to contact them over a rebate issue they took care of my problem with no hassles. Sorry that you had a bad experiance.

Sucks to see this. I love Asus and have had good experience with them. 7 years ago RMD'd my laptop w/o having to pay any shipping and the whole process took only like a week and a half. Also did an RMA for my sig's motherboard and even though I had to do a second RMA it still wasn't bad considering that I got the motherboard OB. Took about 2 weeks and a half and I didn't ship things back that fast.

Now I sent sent a Xonar DX and hope it goes smoothly.... so far they gave me the RMA number in like 12 hours of opening the case so it's going fast.

a few pins got screwed up on a pci slot on my maximus iv.. the board flexed just enough to allow the top of few pins to slide out of place making the slot useless. It wasnt my fault i used their stupid clip releases. I've built countless sytem and never had an issue like this.

asus "customer support" said it was my fault and hung up on me with no warning after being on hold forever.

I RMA'd a board in like 2004 and had a totally different experience.

Not sure when they went bad but i wont ever buy Asus again and they were all i ever bought in the last decade.

ive had RMA experience with Gigabyte, Corsair, and Mushkin. All three were very professional, quick, didnt ruin the replacement unit, and updated me regularly.

Yeah I hear ya dude. I really really like asus motherboards and probably will keep buying them until they burn me, but if I had to jump ship it would probably be asrock's fatality lineup and debadge it. I dont know how close they still are with asus but at least I cant remember the last horror story I read here about a bad rma. MSI rma was great for me even though I went through the 1st rma mobo within a few mins in prime, darn 1100t really was too much for the 890fxa-gd70 (vrm issues) lol, but they didnt question me at all and since I rma'd with willcall it was FAST and pleasant.
