Did i fry my PSU

Thread Starter
So i think aout 3 years ago i build a I5 750 rig with a 5770 crossfire, since the begining the cpu got OCed at 4,1. last year i replaced the 5770 with one 6970, and then added another 6970 6 months ago. With all this i have 3 HHD and 1 SSD and 7 X12" fan and the pump from the H70 cooler. My TX750 always did a great job up until last night.

1 month ago i replaced the mb/cpu with a 3930k and a RIVF. I did a mild OC with low voltage, 1,2 ~1,3v. and then i also started Folding 24/7 literally, the 1st week i did with both GPU and CPU but then i stopped the GPU ( and i only left one gpu on the system at that point ) and only fold with the CPU. My rig started acting weird this week, random shut down ( no BSOD, just shut down ). Last night i deceided to put back my other gpu to check something and i soon as i enable crossfire it shuts down, i couldnt even power up without clr the cmos.... powered back up, opened CCC to see that Xfire is deactivated, i re-enable it and it shut down again. i tried with one gpu only and it kept shuting down another 5-7 time within 30min if i tried to open a game or 2-3 program at once.

Everything was at stock

This morning it would not even post, i tried with another card i had here, with one drive and nothing else, nothing. I tried with another cheap no name psu i had at work and it posted no pbm, couldnt get into win7 probably due to all those crashes.

I havent tried the psu in another rig to see if it power up or not, but those it look as it may be lacking the juice to run my rig?

First step you might want to do is try get another PSU, test your rig and see if it still shutsdown. if it doesnt. then i would call it a bad PSU. if it still shutsdown with the new PSU, then it might not be a bad PSU.

check for any lose or semi cut cords and check how much your psu is intaking from the wall

Not likely but maybe it's overheating. Have you cleaned it? Maybe it's really dusty

It's very clean.
I tried it today in 3 different systems and none powered up, the MB led's lit but nothing else happend. Filling a RMA form on Corsair forum i red about the paper clip test, o trying it the PSU fan worked.... So im kinda lost, but that didnt stopped me to purchasing a AX-1200 today.

What can it be? if the paper clip test work but the PSU can't power any of the 4 rigs ive tried, and on all those 4 rig, the mb leds were lit. Im at lost

This is a good reason to buy and keep a power supply tester. Sounds to me it is bad and you need to do a rma. If you have tried it in 3 more systems and still doesn't work right. It is dead. Thanks
