The best COOLANT?! anyone? - Page 3

let me join the others to say that "distilled water and kill coil" will do you just fine. if you're after with the colors, try colored tubings instead of dyes, as it is kinda problematic in some ways.

OP: Silver Coil and Distilled in the way to go, once you have the science down packed, then you can fiddle with dyes if you like.. I suggest just using colored tubings, silver coil and distilled..
If you still really want to use dyes, I have used Mayhems and they are very good, they don't even stain my tubings (tested with Primochill Pro LRT and Tygon 3603)..

The Rad may be made of aluminum but the block on the cpu is copper. I'm not saying Distilled and Killcoil alone are bad. They are great. I was offerring another option based on the success that the big closed loops system companies have had based on the combo I suggested.

Having both aluminum and copper in the loop is exactly why they use the water/glycol mixture, to prevent corrosion. If you don't mix metals, there's absolutely no reason to use anything other than distilled water + kill coil/biocide.

eek.gif ya dont do that... its a thicker substance that can easily block up small tubing and motor, not t mention the flow rate of it would be much slower

Actually it works fine, you just have to mix it with distilled water. Corrosion prevention is all you're using it for though, as mentioned above, if you don't have multi metal loops, not necessary.
