Help me find a mouse and keyboard - plz

I answered the looking for mouse template on post 2

Greetings all, Sorry if this is posted in the wrong forum because it pertains to both a keyboard and mouse - I did not feel like making a post in each forum.

I am building my first gaming rig ... I'll list the specs at the bottom if you care to know. What I am doing here is looking for some help finding a mouse and keyboard. I have been out of the game for a while and not sure whats best. I have done a lot of reading-reviews and most of it seems pretty subjective and thats understandable how two people can view the same keyboard or mouse two diff ways bar fatal issues like it cutting out frequently.

My budget is $100 bucks for the keyboard and mouse, I feel like I can get a decent quality setup for that price, I guess correct me if im wrong.

If you got something for $120ish don't hesitate to post, sadly its easy to spend more money lol.

Types of games -

I intent to play games like diablo 3 - shogun 2 - bf3 - etc. on them not stuck in one genre.

Requirements Mouse -

Doesn't have to be overly crazy on buttons like naga MMO mouse or anything .. just the side buttons would be fine.
Wired
Nice laser for gaming
hands are pretty normal no need for a small or large mouse, tho prefer a bit larger probably.

cousin has a g500 logitech that I like - dont love its not bad tho.

Requirements Keyboard

Wired
anti ghosting - doesnt have to be for like 30 keys like the expensive ones, just low level gaming number like 6ish.
windows lock key so if I hit it accidentally it wont minimize me - not the most imp tho I can live without.
backlight keys, prefer the color to be blue because that is the leds in my case .. guess it doesn't have to be but im kinda picky about the color scheme.
a low level macro keyboard would be nice as well but I can live without if I have to.

I know its a random question but if you have a good keyboard and mouse that fit my criteria and you really like it please let me know.

Thanks for any help

Swear this isn't my first time in a forum .. and I would notice the looking to buy a mouse sticky after I posted ... Sorry .. here it is tho:

1. What's your grip style?

Palm/

2. What's your sensitivity?

Medium

3. What's your maximum budget?

$70

4. Do you want additional buttons?

Yes - at least side buttons .. a few more is fine, no need for overkill.

5. What games do you play?

FPS - MMO - RTS (usually get around large # of mouse buttons by utilizing in game macro's etc when I can)

6. Do you mind about prediction?

Don't Know thought where I pointed the mouse was where I pointed it - at the enemies heads normally.

7. Other relevant information:

Video Card - GTX 460 EVEA graphics card
Likely Monitor - ASUS VW246H Glossy Black 24" 2ms(GTG) HDMI Widescreen LCD Monitor 300 cd/m2 ASCR 20000:1 (1000:1)

For the mouse if you like G500 then try G400. No predication or acceleration. Good shape for plam users. 8 button in total. It is wired, the senor is in the middle.

100$ is a bit little, but here's my recommendation for what would fit your criterias:

Mouse: Razer deathadder
Keyboard: Microsoft sidewinder X4

Mouse: for a palm grip you want either the Logitech G400 or Razer Deathadder. I'm not the biggest Razer fan so I'd pick the G400 myself.

Keyboard: The Logitech G110 seems to fit your needs, so does the Saitek Eclipse. If you want to spend a bit more, the Razer Blackwidow is only a little more expensive and is a fully mechanical keyboard.

Very good combo for people who aren't sure what they want.

I'd suggest the Roccat Kone[+] although, I've had major QA issues with them. I'm on my 4th mouse after returning the first 3 (Love Amazon, gunna go intern there this summer too!)... then went to a Mionix 5000, but the Roccat just feels so much better in the hand + mouse click + scrollwheel clicks that I had to go back.

I have a Sidewinder X6 keyboard, not too shabby if i do say so myself.

I too play BF3, Diablo III and Shogun 2 (Try GTA IV if you can! it's awesome! You'll need Win 7 Professional for compatibility issues)

Thanks everyone for the suggestions. I will def look into all of them .. seeing if I can get into a store that has some of these to see for myself.

I am not really leaning any which way about the keyboard .. I haven't used a razer keyboard or a logitech keyboard to have a preference .... they both seem pretty nice tho.

I'm not the biggest fan of razer mouses but I don't hate them - haven't even touched one in a few years so I still want to see if a store by me has the deathadder so I can check it out ... so I am leaning towards the g400 right now. I really like the Roccat Kone design from the images i've seen. It looks mega comfortable imo, I def want to check this out 2.

I guess as far as keyboards the G110 right now - tho the sidewinder doesn't look like a bad option (I missed a NE sale on this by one day frown.gif )... anyone used or know anything about the razer lycosa? I have never even touched a razer keyboard and yes its a bit out of the price range but looks interesting.

Thanks

The Sidewinder X4 blows the Lycosa out of the water by being a little cheaper and just overall a better build quality. I see no reason getting a Lycosa when a Sidewinder X4 has everything it has basically.

I'd have to agree. I have the Sidewinder X6 and it is built really well and the keys feel great despite 2+ years of gaming/ raging (ACTIVISION!!!) on it. There are times when some key presses aren't registered right now but only once in a while.

Since the Sidewinder X4 is an improved version of the X6 with great KRO abilities and is at a good price ($47 on newegg but there are other sales plus shipping is still free) I wouldn't get anything else (except for the $50 mechanical keyboard deal I'm getting). The movement of the keys have less travel than regular keyboards since they are lower profile which is you would need to get used to. The keys also may feel a bit closer than that of a Logitech (I came from a G11).
