yes for sure. ive been doing a good amount of reading during the past few days.

right now im running a short fft test in prime. its been 20min and all is good. temps are not going over 45C. I was having trouble making it past 5min until now. in the past, the trend has been that once i get it stable for 30min, itl be stable for 6hours + so i have my fingers crossed smile.gif

i think that when i tried 4ghz on just the mult that it was having trouble on the same voltage but now it seems good to go at 17.5 x 230

i lowered my HT, cpu/nb, and ram speeds lower than what i had them stable.

ht is at 1800mhz (i was just running it at 2000 @ 1.2v)

cpu/nb is at 2500mhz (was 2800mhz @ 1.4v. the volt right now is 1.4125.. might be all in my head but that made things more stable on the cpu side of things?)

ram is at 462mhz with the same timings that i was running when it was at 666mhz @ 1.65v.

hopefully that rules things out if i get an error.. considering all those things where prime blend stable for 6+ hours along with a few passes in mem test.

ugg. let short fft run for 25min and it was fine. stopped to play some skyrim but thought id run 30min of blend to see if it likes to do that too and well the computer froze for a few seconds and then bsod

im starting to think this board dosnt want me going to 4ghz tongue.gif

You will want to start by doing ALOT of research on the Phenom II platform as far as overclocking goes.

Look for things like "multiplier overclocking" and "Northbridge overclocking"

also note, northbridge-cpu voltage is for the nothbridge clock. The northbridge voltage is totally different and should stay at 1.2 volts.

You will see good gains by overclocking the cpu and northbridge speeds. I hate to say it, but if you have to ask.. chances are you have not done enough research. I cant stress it enough and im sure anyone on this forum would agree, RESEARCH RESEARCH RESEARCH. You dont need to fry your system because you didnt know about something silly.

So I have begun my research. Wow, this gets very technical. But I love to learn, so this should be fun
