[TH] Netgear Intros ''World's First'' 802.11ac Wi-Fi Router - Page 6

I haven't even fully converted to n-wireless yet, but that's probably because I prefer wired, it's just so much more dependable.

How about just making a wireless N with 100+ wireless channels? (idk if it is possible to fit that many on a single wireless band, but gawd)

First you need to understand what you're talking about as to not appear a fool.

We have been watching it develop and hopefully we can get some 8 channel APs up to do some testing when this gets approved. @ 20 end points per antenna * 8 antennas we might be able to stop working out this ridiculously complicated high density AP distribution.
Edit. Oh, yeah it'll be damn cool at home too, but not nearly as nice as it has the possibility of being at work. With current wireless solutions, trying to get 3000 simultaneous students on in a lecture class is extremely complicated....Especially when they all have a smart phone and a laptop on the network.

Poly, are youwould you happen to be running WISM, 4402's or 5508's currently for your wlc's?

Edited:

Lots of 6509 chassis, WISM. That's about as far as Ill go on the intarwebz. Our network Is very large. Today's max was right at 9K simultaneous end points. Its usually closer to 12K peak, but things are winding down for the semester. Currently we are only holding about 5.7K users up on wireless redface.gif

If 100MB is the fastest you can get, why spend all that money, research and working hours on a product that can go that much faster?

Ever heard of LAN streaming? You'll be able to reliably stream uncompressed Bluray throughout your network with this. In fact, you could probably throw up several simultaneous streams. Works great for larger households. Just because you don't have a use for it doesn't mean other people don't have a use for it.
