I get the purpose and higher quality but I always wonder, who sits at an angle of 89° to the left or right of his screen?

Well I was speaking of the LG, I'm aware of the others, thanks for the thought thumb.gif

These ARE LG - LG panels, LG components at less than half the price.

I want: 24", 1ms, 1600p, 120hz, IPS, OLED monitor for $250. I realize such a monitor would cost <$600

I would like a displayport only (as it allows to save some more on the control circuitry over other formats) 27'' LG IPS panels at 200 $ tongue.gif

AMD GFX cards have been havin a displayport on them for the past 3 years and nVidia has them as well on some older cards and as far as I understand on all the current gen cards. Hell, even intel integrated gfx is supposed to have them (or at least capability of having it).

Eyefinity users wink.gif A 5x23'' displays in portrait create an screen with a diagonal a bit over 2 meters. With newest drivers you are supposed to be able to run even 5x1 landscape.

Although main advantage of IPS is that they do actually work in portrait while TN is confined to landscape only unless you like having a headic from the horrible contrast shifts that TN have in portrait at every little head movement. Tried TN's at first for portrait - did not like it at all.

Nice to see LG are trying to bring IPS to everyone biggrin.gif viewing angles and colours look great. My TV is LCD IPS and it's made by LG, I haven't had any problems with it and I have had it for almost 3 years. It wasn't exactly expensive either.

AFAIK Catleap use LG panels and from what I have seen so does Apple (1280x854 LCD non-IPS in the PowerBook G4 IIRC), Acer (1366x786 LED IPS, can't remember model number) and one of my other cheaper monitors that I don't use anymore.

3 of these in surround/eyefinity might be pretty nice. FOr now I'm happy with my dell though. I think for sure I'm going to get a 120hz moniter sometime down the line but I do love my IPS screen.

I'm curious how much money the 120hz IPS displays are actually going to cost when they come out.

Some Catleap monitors can be overclocked to get 120Hz (or it could be 100Hz I can't remember, ave a look in the Catleap owners thread) and they are reasonably cheap. They are ISP as well.

I want a pony. A nice pretty pink pony, with pretty bows tied to the pony's mane. And I want it cheap, too. And made by LG. Also, it has to be an IPS pony, at 1600p, and 120hz of course.

Ok, kidding aside, I wouldn't mind an IPS panel for my secondary display, as I have it rotated 90° and find that the display angles are fairly horrible whenever I'm not sitting in the exact position required for optimal viewing. Maybe I'll go check out that Catoveraski display.

I want 30" ips without anti glare
I went from a 30" to a 27" and I can't get over how small 27" is, but it is so clear I like it much better, but I want bigger frown.gif
