The CPU priority is set to low by default under taskmanager. My internet went out so I got DC'd, now I cant get back in so I have no idea if setting to normal or high will change anything.

game

Terrible performance. Every single story line ive played so far is bugged into an endless loop, animations for female characters make them look like hookers, males look like golem from LOTR, and the only skill required is the ability to button mash the number 1.

And this is from someone who owns a Guild Wars 1 guild and has been playing since it's original release.

I played for about 2 hours now, I got in slightly early. I have to say it's not as great as when I played it with a earlier build. They upped the difficulty WAY to much. In all the press beta's I have not heard that there were any PVE difficulties. I hope this is just related to server issues and that maybe the mobs are registering hits that you are not seeing do to the obvious server meltdown atm.

Hope the experience gets better. Really want to give ArenaNet my money.

The priority auto sets itself to low when you alt-tab. While playing, it's normal.
The priority should have little influence on the game's performance anyways. I set it to high and nothing changed.
