Thats quite a low volt still. The 965 is good to atleast 1.5

We're just trying to get you to slow down a little. If you go too far too fast you'll run into problems quickly. Especially with the older gen phenom's which are very finnicky when it comes to overclocking. Ganja is giving you good advice though. Read through those to familarize yourself with your chip.

Here's a good guide..do everything in order
The order is important..at the end..all you have to do is play with multi and vcore to establish desired overclock.

With watercooling I seem to get high temps on the cores. I have 50-53C idle and I easy go over 60 on load. I've told that max is 62-65, yet this guy goes over 80C. Any other expirience?

Please let me know how you did bc I have the same set up but with a Corsair H50 liquid cooler and was looking to bump it up but want it to be stable. I got it up to 4.0GHz at 1.45v but it crashed during Crysis 3 when the temps hit 67C

I'm not finding these, could you link to them?

Like the thread creator I'm new to CPU overclocking.

EDIT: formatting.
