Hi everyone. So i have some problems with my new pc parts. Yesterday ive bought some pc parts from the internet (ASUS M5A78L, AMD ATHLON II X4 640, MSI GEFORCE GTX 550 TI and 16gigs(2x8gb) of kingston ram) And today i've tried to build a new pc with those parts and my old hdd drive and dvd-rom. So, i did everything like the instructions said, pc started good, all fans worked good, but monitor showed nothing, just black screen!.. Then i've tried somehow fix the problem. took out the new gtx 550 gpu and pluged on my old palit geforce 9800gt. At first, pc powered on good, then i could enter my windows 7 desktop in 800x600 resolution. After that i had installed all the drivers of the motherboard, drivers were in the dvd disc(which came with the motherboard) and after driver installation, restarted my pc. Resolution was good( if im right it was 1440x900) and after this i've installed the msi gtx 550 graphics card drivers that where in the gpu's disc, shut down pc again after this. then i've replaced the old gpu with the new one, started on the pc and again ive got black screen.. tried to take out motherboards battery out, didnt worked, still black screen, tried to power on without ram, northing, then without gpu, still nothing. after i've tried start up my pc with the old gpu again, and it didint start, black screen came up..Now i dont know what to do..everything i do, i get black screen. Read all internet, tried to find something about this issue and i havent found any solutions about my problem. So guys i would be very thankful if u could help me to find to fix that. Looking forward for your replys. smile.gif

Static Electricity from your hands can certainly kill the motherboard
i have had this before and the solution was very weird

try taking everything out of the case and try it (the motherboard was grounded in my situation so getting a new case fixed it once i determined it was the case somehow)

if its your old HDD, in a new motherboard, usually you have to format windows and re-install because the drivers transfer on a SATA hard drive for your old system

i would try removing the case first, and if not try testing a different hard drive

Oh and by the way, do i have to install new windows on my old motherboard and after that swich my old motherboard with the new one? or i have to install windows on the new motherboard instantly? But in the other way, i cant install windows when the the new motherboard is pluged in cuz it shows just black screen nothing more, no boot up, no signs of any letters, no nothing, sceen is just black.. :/ so i dont know what to do:(

well if its a SATA HDD usually it will go to the login screen then BSOD (Blue Screen of Death) so its obviously not that if its blank, i still suggest trying it out of the case, or using rubber O-Rings on the mounting screws
