New SATA Install help

Thread Starter
I just put in my first SATA drive (Seagate Barra 320GB), 2 problems: The first is I thought my boot times would be faster now, but there not at all, I think slightly slower, am I suppose to enable something in bios? 2nd: In windows now I get a taskbar icon that seems to be permanetly stuck to my taskbar, it says...Do I want to salfely remove hardware (my Seagate), How to get rid of it?

Boot times depends on how much hardware you have 1st and 2nd depends on how much stuff is running in the background, whether or not you can see it, depends.

There isn't really that much difference between SATA and PATA, just the advantages of SATA over PATA.
