Been to USA......never again. Saw some horrid things over there that made me glad I live in a real first world country

OT - Are any of us actually surprised that we are getting price jacked?

I hate how overpriced these 28nm GPU's are. Even in the US they're overpriced, so hence why we have to sell our first born child just to get a GTX670. Really hope yields increase dramatically soon......this pricing madness can't go on forever. Can it? mad.gif

Works out cheaper to get most stuff shipped over from the US. Yay for having a girlfriend over there, boo for having a girlfriend not in australia.

I'm in America at the moment and holding myself back from bringing back a suitcase full of SSD's and GPU's :l

Haha yeah, I could sell a stack of 256GB M4's on OCAU new for like $290 and make a bit a money, but not sure the forum allows that :S

They're starting to shuffle down to $900 biggrin.gif

I would hope that they would be less than $700, 7950's are around $650. If its over $700 I might just get a 7950.

What are you talking about? In Norway, we have a 25% tax on electornics, a GTX 680 costs 4000 NOK ($700 USD.) A 7950 costs 3300 NOK ($575 USD.)

Then again, our wages are better as well rolleyes.gif

Our 680's are about the same price on average as you guys

7970's are more expensive here. Average around $600USD......don't think any of the retailers got the memo about the price drop frown.gif

But yes, having been to Norway, I can sympathise with you. I think I paid $18USD for a pint of beer and like $6USD for 50cl bottle of coke. Not to mention the 400g steak I bought that was $80USD. I spent more in 3 days in Oslo as I did in a week in Berlin tongue.gif

But at least you have some nice looking girls there thumb.gif

When I graduate I hope to work there actually. Really nice country......expensive but really nice people and place. Pretty cold though tongue.gif
