what´s the limit on ur chip?(stable)

can you run linx? and see a run on linx compared to i7´SB?

Thread Starter
I rather not run LINX or PRIME as all I find it to do is weaken your CPU by stressing it way beyond any good game ect! maybe after all my benching is done with DICE and LN2 ect I will do so, but as far as I can see right now it is plenty stable for everyday usage and gaming alike. I will see how high I can go on the simple H-100 maybe tomorrow with ambient temps around 72/74F in the room.

Thanks

How does Prime or Linx weaken your cpu? If anything, they provide evidence that your overclock is solid.

seems like you have quite a nice chip there smile.gif can you please check what kind of voltages you need to get a stable 4.8,4.9,5? when i try to go further than 4.8 it just requires so much more volt it runs too hot frown.gif. i would be careful about assuming it stable without a proper prime/ibt test though, it only gives inconvienience with random crashes and so wink.gif running it hotter than it usually runs is fine for 12-15 hours, as long as you dont test prime 24/7

Your overclock is not stable until you can at least run Prime95 for about a day or LinX for 40 or so runs.

My system once ran LinX for like 20 runs but craps out at the 21st run. You really need to push the processor a little, for some length of time, to know if it's truly stable.

It's not a "oh I ran the program! It's fine!" get-in and get-out sort of deal.

at least an hour test tbh, i noticed my temps increasing steadily in the first hour. with about a 10C difference between a 30 min prime and a 1hr prime...
