Oh Boy, or Boy the Choice of AMD 1100t or FX-8150... - Page 2

Your so lucky. I tried to find a 1100T an wound up buying a FX8150. Would love to get a 1100T an send this FX8150 down the road.

Well he wants the best performance if hes going for the top two amd's but they will give no where near as good performance as a 2500k will and will be much cheaper than those 2.

Your missing the entire point of the thread this is more of an I'm doing this for fun wicth of these 2 should I throw in there and play around with shut up about the 2500k!
Also to the op the 1100T is techinally the better cpu but the 8150 might be a bit more fun to mess with.

So I picked up a Asus Sabertooth, this morning just to screw around with.. I believe I may have a bad MB.. but wondering if anyone else seen this problem, and if there's a fix besides returning the MB.

Every time I boot, I get the press f1 to run setup with the message "NEW CPU Installed"

I've tried updating the bios, its at 1102, but I get the same issue.. I have a 1100t cpu installed

In my opinion, don't get either, buy something cheap to make sure everything runs and hold out till PD, which is supposedly going to have a 15% performance boost over current FX series chips. The 8150 is great, but has low single core preformance, while the 1100t is, although still good, old tech and will probably have trouble keeping up in the next year or two

Yeah, IIano is cool, I'm waiting to see them combine with Bulldozer/Piledriver later this year..

Should be cool to check out, I've always liked AMD's offerings but decided to try out intel for my sig rig and I love it.

I disagree. It is suggestion like this that builds up the expectation of BD in the first place (over-hype). I sure don't want to see another hype around PD. Buy what is available, or if you can pick, buy what is the best.
