It would be nice to have them optimized a bit more under folding@home. 10k ppd is still better than I got before the v7 client though so I'm happy with it for now.

Yeah seriously. GTX 560 Ti's get ~15k PPD or so. GTX 580s get 20k+. And that's without putting much stress on the SMP client either. mad.gif

AMD GPUs utilize a CPU core each when they are folding so SMP will take a big hit.

How much PPD does your CPU give you when you're folding on it alone?

You need to work on you OC, if it crashes or doesn't make progress on WUs it's not stable in this neck of the wood.

Hmmm, interesting. That's exactly what I get using 6 cores (thanks again to arvidab), with my sig-rig (everything stock). I was 19.4k when all 8 cores were going; 20k or so when I had 6 cores, and let 2 go for the GPUs; and have jumped to 25.4k, now that I've enabled bigadv.

I'll be going out tomorrow, and getting an H80 for my old main setup, and will be setting it up with an Ubuntu setup (I downloaded the current version- 12.04, hope it works out smile.gif ). Thanks again to Arvidab, the help is much appreciated!

[EDIT] For interests sake, I figure I'll throw up my PPD numbers. GPU1 = 6.2k ; GPU2 = 6.6k ; CPU (with bigadv) = 11.8k

It works, but I'm actually recommending the older 10.10, it should work just as well with drivers for LAN port etc but is a faster folder.

So is that with the two 6950s and the CPU? Does it fold on 4 or 6 cores?

Seems like running SMP and GPU is being counter productive. 2x6970s alone should get you around that PPD. If you get close to 20k with SMP alone then it might be more worthwhile to just fold on that as you will use a lot less power (and have a lot less heat) for the same PPD output. If it's not close to 20k then try just folding with your two GPUs and that should be around 20k by itself.

You should be getting much higher PPD with that CPU... AMD GPU woes again?
