Well it's the number of pixels per inch. Not the number of pixels per square inch.

30 @ 2560x1600 = 30 @ 16:10 ratio

So a 30 inch diagnal monitor would be 25.44 inches by 15.89 inches (roughly, that actually only comes out to 29.9948 but that is close enough to me tongue.gif)

So you take the total number of pixels 4096000 (2560 multiplied by 1600) and the total area in square inches 404.2416 (25.44 multiplied by 15.89) and you divide the total number of pixels by the total area and you end up with... 10132.55. Not what you were expecting? Well you still have to take the number of pixels per square inch and find the square root. 100.6. thumb.gif

The easier way is to use the Pythagorean Theorem. sqrt(2560^2+1600^2)= 3018.8. Then take that number and divide it by the number of diagonal inches and boom, 100.6. thumb.gif

Hope that helps.

I've only ever had a quick play on a 30" 2560x1600 monitor and even to this day I still lust for one!!

At 2560x1600 the pixel density is so high that jaggies don't tend to be as noticeable as they would be at 1080p

FXAA is much much more effective at 2560x1600 as well as there's more sub-pixels for it sample from smile.gif

gotcha...makes sense..yea i was definately a bit off lol..thanks for the info!!!
