Thanks for the suggestions guys, problem is I won't be able to place my order till Monday so I'll probably miss out on most of those deals frown.gif

edit: nvm I'm a dummy lol, anyway while browsing that ad I saw a CM case that looks kind of better than what I have now

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811119216&Tpk=N82E16811119216

So now I'm caught between that one above and the HAF 912, still got time to make my decision just wondering if anyone has any opinions/personal experience with the two.

I've been reading online about the CM 690 II and I see a few reports about the case having grounding problems causing reboots and shortages when touching the front panel of the case, granted they aren't to common it's still some what worrying, anyone ever hear of such a thing?

I've heard of it, but my friend who had the case never experienced it.
It sounds like only s small groups of people were affected.
If that were to happen though, just contact CM or the retailer and exchange it.

I have the 912+ and it's pretty good for the price. My only complaint about it is, that my HDD makes quite a crumble noise in the case.

Just thought I'd pop in to let everyone know that I got all my hardware yesterday and just got around to putting everything together. So far so good! Hopefully there won't be any unforseen problems (knock on wood) anyway, I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions for some software I can use to check the stability of my hardware, maybe check the RAM/CPU to make sure everything is in order or something along those lines, thanks in advance.

Nice! Remember to add your rig to your signature, too smile.gif
I'd just run Heaven Benchmark a couple of times, and maybe 3DMark11. Those will be enough since you're not overclocking. Of course you can run a blend test for some time with prime95, but it's not really necessary.

I actually did run prime95 on a friends suggestion, he said to keep it going all day but I'm not about to rack up my energy bill so I did it for roughly 2 hours just to see. I guess my temps are normal for stock cooling, around 35 idle and it hit I believe 77 on 100%. I'll just go ahead and assume that is about as cool as it gets with the stock heatsink, I'm sure in the future I'll grab a cheap 212 or something but for now I think I'm fine, I highly doubt I'll ever be doing something that'll keep me at max load for any significant amount of time.

edit: I included a screen shot for the hell of it tongue.gif

Yep, 77C is good for the stock cooler. If you want to lower the temps a bit, you can undervolt it a little smile.gif
Also... please enter your info in the rigbuilder and put it in the sig... or just tell me which case did you end up buying? I want to know biggrin.gif

Oh, I ended up getting a corsair 400r. It's not bad, I thought I would be able to do some cable management better but I'm just bad at it lol. Also I have a quick question, is there any reason why my core #2 temp is always 3-4 degrees above the rest? Kind of confused by that. They're usually on average 35-35-39-35 its really odd.
